Many Pakistani soldiers killed in Afghan retaliation at Spin Boldak: Mujahid

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) says Pakistani forces once again launched an attack in Spin Boldak on Wednesday morning. In response, Afghan forces killed several Pakistani soldiers and captured their posts, weapons and military tanks.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the IEA’s chief spokesman, wrote on X “Unfortunately, early this morning, Pakistani forces once again carried out light and heavy weapon attacks on Afghanistan in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province, resulting in the martyrdom of around 12 civilians and injuries to more than 100 others.”

He added that Afghan forces were subsequently compelled to launch a counteroffensive.

“As a result,” Mujahid said, “a large number of Pakistani aggressor soldiers were killed, their posts and bases were captured, their weapons and tanks seized, and most of their military installations destroyed.”

According to him, the situation was brought under control by 8 a.m., while “the Mujahideen, with high morale, remain fully prepared to defend their land, sovereignty, and people.”

Last Thursday night, Pakistani forces reportedly carried out airstrikes in the Marghi Bazaar area of Barmal district in southeastern Paktika province, violating Afghanistan’s airspace. An explosion was also heard in Kabul.

Following that attack, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) forces launched retaliatory strikes on Pakistani border posts along the Durand Line in Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, and Khost provinces.

Mujahid had said that during the retaliatory operations last week, Afghan forces captured around 20 Pakistani border posts, killing 58 Pakistani soldiers and wounding about 30 others.
