Afghan U-17 futsal squad departs for Bahrain games

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s under-17 futsal team has departed for Bahrain to participate in the 2025 Asian Youth Games, the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) announced on Sunday.

In a statement, the AFF said the U-17 futsal players left for Bahrain on Sunday to take part in the Asian Youth Futsal Championship, which will kick off on October 23, 2025, hosted by Bahrain.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has placed Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team in Group A, alongside Bahrain, Uzbekistan and China.

The Afghan youth squad will compete under the guidance of head coach Behroz Jafari.

The Asian Youth Games (AYG) is a multi-sport event held every four years for young athletes from across Asia, featuring competitions in 24 different sports disciplines.
