KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Water and Energy says that research work on the Baghdara Hydropower Dam in Kapisa province has been completed, and its practical construction will begin as soon as possible.
According to a Pajhwok report, feasibility, geophysical, and geotechnical studies of the Baghdara Dam project in Kapisa began in March.
On its X handle, the MoWE said that the research work on the Baghdara Dam has now been completed.
Qari Hujjatullah Zubair, head of water and energy and technical advisor of the department, inspected the completed research activities of the Baghdara Dam project — including the construction of a 25-kilometer access road from three routes leading to the dam site and several exploratory boreholes.
Zubair also met with the technical team of the Chinese MCC Company, expressing appreciation for their work and assuring them of full cooperation in implementing the project.
According to MoWE, the company’s technical team stated that the research phase of the dam has been completed and practical construction will commence soon.
