Saudi Arabian firm keen to invest in Afghanistan’s oil, gas sectors

KABUL (Pajhwok): Saudi Delta International Company has evinced a keen interest in investing in Afghanistan’s oil and gas sectors, as well as in the extension of TAPI pipeline project, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) announced on Thursday.

Minister of Mines and Petroleum Mullah Hidayatullah Badri met with Ali Saeed Al-Khayar, CEO of Saudi Delta International Company and Zamari Kamgar, direct of Kam Energy today (Thursday), MoMP said in a statement.

Ali Saeed Al-Khayar provided information about his company and expressed interest in investing in Afghanistan’s oil and gas industries, as well as in the expansion of the TAPI pipeline project.

He also pledged to share his company’s technical experience with Afghan engineers.

For his part, Mullah Hidayatullah Badri said: “We are eager to work jointly with Saudi investors. It is an honour for us that you are interested in investing in Afghanistan’s mineral resources. We have vast and rich mineral deposits, and both domestic and foreign investors can take part. I welcome your interest and assure you of our cooperation in accordance with the mining law and relevant procedures.”

Both sides signed a memorandum to facilitate the continuation of technical discussions between their respective teams.
