Second round of Afghan-Pak talks begins in Turkey

KABUL (Pajhwok): A second round of talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan kicked off in Istanbul, Turkey, with Kabul being represented by Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs Rahmatullah Najib.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid had confirmed the Afghan delegation has left for Turkey following the Doha Agreement with the Pakistani side a few days ago.

Following Doha talks, Mujahid announced that the negotiations between the representatives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Pakistan in Qatar ended with the signing of an agreement and both sides agreed on a “complete and meaningful ceasefire.”

Mujahid also wrote on his X-Page this evening that a delegation led Haji Najib left for Turkey following the Doha Agreement with the Pakistani side a few days ago.

A reliable source told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Establishing a monitoring and surveillance mechanism to ensure that no hostile acts are carried out against each other, strictly implementing and abiding by existing laws to respect the national sovereignty of the countries, understanding the root causes of the security problems in Pakistan over the past two decades, removing obstacles to trade, forcibly expelling refugees, ending road closures, and not using them for political purposes are some of the topics that Afghan and Pakistani officials are likely to discuss in Turkey.”
