KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s national volleyball team will take on Turkmenistan in the final match of the Central Asian Volleyball Championship today (Tuesday).
The tournament, featuring teams from six countries — Afghanistan, the Maldives, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan — kicked off on October 22 in Bangladesh.
Both Afghanistan and Turkmenistan reached the final following strong performances during the group stage.
Mohammad Arif Paiman, deputy administrative head of the Afghanistan Volleyball Federation, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the championship final will be held at 2:00 p.m. (Afghanistan time).
Afghanistan advanced to the final after defeating Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Maldives, but suffered defeats against Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan earlier in the tournament.
