12 school buildings being repaired in Jawzjan

SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Repair work has begun on 12 school buildings and two administrative offices at a cost of more than five million afghanis in northern Jawzjan province, an official said on Monday.

Mawlawi Lal Jan Rashid, head of the Education Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the schools had been partially damaged in previous years, exposing students to study in an unsafe and unsuitable environment.

According to him, the projects, worth over five million afghanis, are being funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE).

He said the repair work would be completed within the next two months by contracted companies.

Mawlawi Rashid explained: “These buildings will be fundamentally renovated to provide a better and safer learning environment for students.”

Meanwhile, several local residents welcomed the initiative of the education department and pledged their cooperation in implementing the projects.
