KABUL (Pajhwok): A 16-member wheelchair basketball team from the Afghanistan National Paralympic Federation has departed for Thailand to participate in the qualifying tournament for the 2026 Japan Paralympic Games.
The federation said the team left for Bangkok on Monday. It includes 12 players, two coaches, one referee and one administrative official.
According to the statement, Afghanistan will compete in Group A of the tournament — scheduled from November 7 to 15 — facing teams from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, New Zealand and Iraq for a spot in the 2026 Paralympics.
