Small water reservoir inaugurated in Ghor

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A small water reservoir with a storage capacity of nearly 9,000 cubic meters has been inaugurated in western Ghor province, an official said on Sunday.

Ramazan Faiz, media officer at the Water and Energy Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the project was completed and put into use in the Timber Memberto village of Lal-o-Sarjangal district.

The project consumed more than three million afghanis funded from the Ministry of Water and Energy’s development budget.

Faiz said the reservoir could store 8,912 cubic meters of water and would directly benefit around 650 families.

Residents expressed satisfaction with the project, saying it will help partially resolve their water-related problems.

A few weeks ago, another check dam costing 2,435,750 afghanis was completed and put into operation in the Ana village of Tiora district in Ghor province.
