PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A 27-year-old man has committed suicide in central Logar province, an official said on Wednesday.
Police spokesman Mawlawi Ahmadullah Anas told Pajhwok Afghan News that the man, a resident of the Altemor area of Pul-i-Alam city, reportedly shot himself with a Kalashnikov on Tuesday.
According to Anas, the deceased had been struggling with mental health issues, which are believed to have contributed to the incident.
Family members, including a relative named Khorshid, confirmed the suicide, saying he took his own life unexpectedly. They did not provide additional details regarding the cause.
Religious scholars strongly condemn suicide, emphasizing that taking one’s own life is considered a major sin in Islam. They urge individuals not to resort to such actions due to life challenges, which they say can be addressed through support and guidance.
