KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation says it has started distributing food aid to nearly one thousand returning and displaced families in Kabul.
The ministry wrote on its X-page today (Friday) that it has started distributing aid to nearly one thousand returning refugee and displaced families.
The aid had been handed over to the Minister of Refugees, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, by Afghan businessmen and well-off people.
Each family will be distributed one sack of flour, two sacks of rice, 10 kilograms of ghee, 7 kilograms of beans, 5 kilograms of chickpeas, 4 kilograms of macaroni, 10 kilograms of sugar, two kilograms of green tea, one kilogram of black tea, salt and a number of other basic items.
As per the ministry, the first part of the aid was distributed to 50 families today and the rest will be distributed in the coming days.
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation also thanked the country’s businessmen and well-wishers for the assistance and also called on other compatriots to fulfill their national and religious responsibility in this regard.
The ministry of emphasised it was committed to meeting the urgent needs of returning refugees and would implement other similar programs for them with the help of partner organisations.
