KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the killing of three Chinese nationals in Khatlon province, Tajikistan, stating that “the perpetrators are those who seek to create disorder, instability and mistrust among the countries of the region.”
Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Thursday that the attack targeted the LLC Shamsuddin Shahin SM near the Tajik-Afghan border, resulting in the deaths of three Chinese nationals.
In a statement, Afghanistan’s MoFA said: “The Islamic Emirate expresses its deep condolences to the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Tajikistan regarding the tragic killing of three Chinese citizens in the Shahin area of Khatlon province and strongly condemns this incident.”
The statement added that, based on preliminary assessments and information from relevant agencies, the attack was carried out by groups aiming to sow chaos, instability, and distrust between countries in the region.
The ministry also assured that the Afghan government is fully committed to cooperating with Tajikistan and is prepared for information sharing, technical cooperation, and joint assessments to determine the causes behind the incident.
