PM Hassan Akhund accepts credentials of Qatar’s new envoy

KABUL (Pajhwok): Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund has accepted the credentials of Qatar’s new ambassador, Mirdif bin Ali Al-Qashouti, who pledged to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), wrote on X that during the credential-presenting ceremony, the new Qatari envoy reaffirmed his country’s support for the prosperity and development of the Afghan government and people.

“It is an honour for me to begin my mission as Qatar’s ambassador to Afghanistan,” Al-Qashouti said. “I am committed to making continuous efforts to further strengthen relations and cooperation between Qatar and Afghanistan.”

Mullah Hassan Akhund expressed hope that the appointment of the new ambassador would help further enhance the existing diplomatic ties between the two nations.

“Qatar has cooperated with us during difficult times, and we appreciate it. May Allah bring more improvement and progress in our relations and cooperation,” he added.

Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi also assured the ambassador of full cooperation and wished him success in his new assignment.
