KABUL (Pajhwok): Minister of Higher Education Sheikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem met Ali Akbar Velayati, senior adviser on international affairs to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during his official visit to Iran.
The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) said the two sides discussed ways to strengthen academic ties and build mutual trust between Kabul and Tehran.
Nadeem briefed Velayati on Afghanistan’s higher education system and recent developments in the sector, emphasizing the need for enhanced bilateral academic cooperation.
Highlighting the religious, cultural and historical ties between the two nations, he outlined Afghanistan’s requirements in the medical and technical fields and stressed the importance of collaboration in these areas.
Velayati described Afghanistan and Iran as “two brotherly countries” and expressed Iran’s readiness to support the growth and development of Afghanistan’s higher education sector.
