GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): About 51 individuals have been arrested over the past week on charges related to various criminal activities in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.
Police chief Mullah Mohammad Qasim Haqmal told Pajhwok Afghan News that the suspects were arrested on charges including theft, kidnapping, harassment, drug trafficking and use, moral crimes, intimidation, forgery and other offenses.
He said no one will be allowed to act against the law or disturb public security.
According to Haqmal, the detained individuals will be handed over to judicial and legal authorities for prosecution.
“The Afghan people have endured long years of hardships, and it is our duty to ensure peace, stability and a secure life for the residents of Ghazni,” he added.
Haqmal stressed that security operations aimed at preventing crimes, enforcing the law and protecting citizens will continue.
Earlier, 19 people had been arrested in Ghazni in connection with various crimes.
