Over 600 needy families receive cash aid in Nimroz

KABUL (Pajhwok): Cash assistance has been distributed to more than 600 internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, people with disabilities, widows and other vulnerable families in the centre and districts of northwestern Nimroz province.

Mawlawi Abdullah Riyaz, Director of the Department of Refugees and Repatriation, told Pajhwok Afghan News that cash aid was provided to 634 families in Zaranj city and the districts of Khashrod, Chakhansur, Kang, and Chahar Burjak.

The beneficiaries included IDPs, returnees, persons with disabilities, widows, and other needy households.

He said the assistance was delivered by the Danish Committee for Aid to Afghan Refugees (DACAAR) in coordination with the Departments of Refugees and Repatriation and Economy.

According to Riyaz, each family received between 4,700 and 11,900 afghanis, depending on family size.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries welcomed the assistance and expressed appreciation to the Department of Refugees, calling for the continuation and expansion of such support.
