KABUL (Pajhwok): The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction is scheduled to commence today (Tuesday) in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The auction would begin at 2:30pm UAE time, marking the third straight year the event has been hosted outside India.
Reports indicate that around 359 players from India and abroad will be up for selection, including 246 Indian and 113 foreign players, with ten Afghan cricketers among them.
Afghanistan’s representatives in this year’s auction are Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Fazal-ur-Rahman Farooqi, Gulbadin Naib, Waqar Salamkheil, Sadiqullah Atal, Qais Ahmad, Wahidullah Zadran, and Arab Gul Momand.
Four other Afghan players had earlier been retained by their respective franchises… Rashid Khan by Gujarat Titans, Azmatullah Omarzai by Punjab Kings, Noor Ahmad by Chennai Super Kings, and Allah Mohammad Ghanzfar by Mumbai Indians.
