KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) on Thursday announced the reshuffle of five senior officials, including the reassignment of ministers between the Ministries of Water and Energy and Rural Rehabilitation and Development, and new appointments in Public Works, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
IEA chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement posted on his X account that the changes were made by order of the leadership of the Islamic Emirate.
According to the statement, the former Minister of Water and Energy, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, has been appointed Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, while the former Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Mullah Mohammad Younis Akhundzada, has been appointed Minister of Water and Energy.
In addition, the former Financial and Administrative Deputy of the Ministry of Public Works, Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS).
The statement added that the former Deputy Minister for Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Information and Culture, Qari Mohammad Younis Rashid, has been appointed Financial and Administrative Deputy of the Ministry of Public Works.
Meanwhile, the former CEO of DABS, Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, has been appointed Head of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
No further details were provided regarding the reasons for the changes.
