KABUL (Pajhwok): As part of its preparations for the 2026 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Afghanistan’s Under-19 cricket team will play its first warm-up match against Australia today (Sunday).
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said the Afghan side will face Australia’s Under-19 team at 12:00 noon in Namibia.
The board added that Afghanistan will play its second warm-up match on January 14 against Sri Lanka’s Under-19 team.
The 2026 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup will get underway on January 15, featuring 16 teams competing in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Afghanistan has been placed in a group alongside South Africa, the West Indies, and Tanzania.
In the official World Cup fixtures, Afghanistan will face South Africa on January 16, the West Indies on January 18, and Tanzania on January 21.
