KABUL (Pajhwok): The newly appointed country director of Save the Children in Afghanistan, Bojar Hoja, has pledged to enhance maternal and child health services and expand health centres across the country.
Minister of Public Health Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali met with Hoja and the organisation’s former director, Arshad Malik, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said.
According to a statement from the ministry, the two sides discussed measures to improve health services for mothers and children, mobilise support, expand health centres and increase projects related to child health.
Hoja promised to strengthen maternal and child health services, increase the number of health centres and broaden child health–related initiatives throughout Afghanistan.
For his part, Mawlawi Jalali shared recommendations with the newly appointed director on expanding health services and assured him of the ministry’s continued cooperation in this area.
