Heavy rain, snowfall forecast in 18 provinces

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has warned of possible snowfall, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and flash floods across 18 provinces of the country.

In a statement shared on its X page, the ministry said that adverse weather conditions are expected today in the provinces of Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz, Baghlan, Samangan, Parwan, Balkh, Faryab, Sar-I-Pol, Jawzjan, Badghis, Herat, Farah, Ghor, Helmand, Daikundi, Uruzgan, and Bamyan.

According to the ministry, rainfall in various areas is forecast to range between 10 and 30 millimeters, while snowfall is expected to reach between 10 and 35 millimeters.

The ministry also warned that strong winds are likely in the central provinces, including the Salang passes, with wind speeds expected to range from 50 to 90 kilometers per hour in different areas.
