KABUL (Pajhwok): At least six people have been killed and around 20 others injured when a massive fire swept through a shopping mall in Karachi, according to media reports.
The fire broke out on Saturday at Gul Plaza, a densely populated commercial complex, and continued burning for several hours. By early Sunday, authorities said firefighters had managed to bring about 30 percent of the blaze under control, Al Jazeera reported.
Al Jazeera added that six fatalities had been confirmed, while approximately 20 people sustained injuries in the incident.
Rescue officials said the mall houses nearly 1,200 shops, heightening concerns that people may still be trapped inside. The Edhi Foundation reported that part of the building collapsed due to the intensity of the fire, further complicating rescue operations.
