KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has announced a 14-member national futsal team for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup, which will be hosted by Indonesia.
In a statement, the AFF said goalkeepers Ali Ahmad Mohseni, Ali Reza Jafari, and Mohammad Jawad Safari have been selected for the national squad.
The remaining team members include Abbas Haidari, Hamid Reza Husseini, Khodadad Ibrahimi, Reza Husseinpour, Mohammad Muradi, Syed Mortaza Husseini, Farzad Mahmoodi, Syed Mujtaba Husseini, Akbar Kazemi, Omid Qanbari, and Syed Hussein Mousavi.
Meanwhile, in a separate announcement, the AFF said the national futsal team, following a training camp in Thailand, arrived in Indonesia on Sunday morning to participate in the Asian Cup.
Afghanistan has been drawn in Group D alongside Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.
The final stage of the tournament will be held in Indonesia from 27 January to 7 February 2026, featuring 16 teams.
