AIBAK (Pajhwok): A seven-year-long feud between two families in northern Samangan province, which had claimed one life, has been resolved through the mediation of local authorities and religious scholars.
At the reconciliation ceremony, Governor Damla Mohammad Shoaib Resalat said the dispute had originated about seven years ago in Joy Zindan village of Aibak city.
He described forgiveness and tolerance as core Islamic values and emphasised that the current system is founded on brotherhood and reconciliation. He urged the community to set aside hostilities and live in an atmosphere of unity and harmony.
The governor also called on the reconciled families to maintain peace and goodwill in their relations going forward.
Mullah Mohebullah Bahari, Head of the Department of Borders and Tribal Affairs, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the conflict had erupted between the families of Haji Abdul Khaliq and Khal Mohammad, resulting in the death of Abdul Munir, the son of Ustad Abdul Khaliq.
He added that after repeated efforts, meetings and mediation by officials from the department, the Dispute Resolution Commission, religious scholars and local elders, the case was fully resolved today.
At the ceremony’s conclusion, Ustad Abdul Khaliq publicly forgave his son’s killer for the sake of Allah (swt), and both families pledged to continue their relationship based on peace, mutual respect, and brotherhood.
