KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) has alerted of the possibility of snowfall, rainfall, and flash floods over the next three days in several provinces across the country.
According to a post on its X page, the MoEW said that from Friday to Sunday, moderate to heavy precipitation, accompanied by potential flash floods, is expected in the Herirud, Murghab, Helmand, northern, and Kabul regions, as well as in some associated floodplains.
The ministry also predicted rising water levels or flash floods in the rivers of Herat, Ghor, Badghis, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Jawzjan, Sar-i-Pul, Faryab, Balkh, Ghazni, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Kabul, Parwan, and other related flood-prone areas.
Residents of these areas are urged to stay away from rivers during periods of flooding or high water levels and to promptly inform authorities if rising waters or floods are observed downstream, in order to prevent casualties.
