3 ‘drug traffickers’ killed in clash with Tajik forces

KABUL (Pajhwok): Tajikistani authorities have reported that three “drug traffickers” crossing from Afghanistan into their country were killed during a clash with border forces.

According to the Tajikistan National Security Committee, the incident occurred last Thursday, when the three were killed in the confrontation while two others managed to flee back to Afghanistan.

The statement identified two of the deceased as Javid and Rashid, residents of Waricha village in Chah Aab district of Takhar province, and the third as Saber, a resident of Anjir village in the same district.

Authorities also said that weapons and drugs were seized from the individuals involved.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has not yet commented on the incident.
