KABUL (Pajhwok): The inaugural edition of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade-I T20 Cricket Tournament, featuring 12 teams, got underway on Tuesday, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced.
The short-format tournament, held in accordance with the ACB’s annual domestic cricket calendar, will continue until February 13, according to an official statement.
The board said the event aims to identify and select talented players for upcoming List-A competitions, the Mirwais Nika three-day tournament and the National T20 Cup.
The statement added that the teams have been divided into two groups, with Group A matches being hosted in the southern province of Kandahar, while Group B fixtures will take place in the eastern province of Nangarhar.
