KABUL (Pajhwok): The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup gets under way today (Saturday), with Pakistan facing the Netherlands in the opening match at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Sri Lanka.
According to reports, the curtain-raiser is scheduled to begin at 10:00am Sri Lanka time.
A total of 20 teams are competing in the tournament, divided into four groups.
Group A features India, Namibia, the Netherlands, Pakistan and the United States.
Group B comprises Australia, Ireland, Oman, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
Group C includes England, the West Indies, Scotland, Italy and Nepal.
Group D consists of Afghanistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Afghanistan will begin their campaign tomorrow (Sunday) against New Zealand in Chennai.
