KABUL (Pajhwok): The third meeting of the private sector working group under the Doha Process was held in Kabul on Tuesday in both in-person and online formats, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said.
Hosted by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), the meeting was attended by representatives from MoFA, the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoIC), the Ministry of Economy (MoE), and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA), as well as Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), the ministry stated in a statement.
It added that envoys from UNAMA, relevant UN agencies, international and regional organisations, ambassadors, diplomats and associated experts from several countries also participated both in person and virtually.
According to the statement, the meeting was divided into two sessions. The first session focused on growth and inclusion, while the second addressed coordination and transparency.
Representatives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) presented recent achievements and developments in the country.
Participants also commended the Afghan government’s efforts and accomplishments, highlighted their cooperation in supporting the private sector, and reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration.
All parties submitted proposals to tackle existing challenges and emphasised the need for enhanced coordination, the statement concluded.
