KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 10 people, including the suspected gunwoman, have been killed and several others wounded in a school shooting in Canada’s British Columbia province, media reported on Wednesday.
The shooting occurred at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and at a second nearby location on Tuesday, Al Jazeera reported.
Six people were found dead inside the school, while another victim died on the way to hospital. Two more bodies were discovered at a home police believe was linked to the incident.
At least two people were airlifted to hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries, while about 25 others with non-life-threatening injuries were treated locally.
All students and staff were safely evacuated and security forces were working with education officials to reunite families with their children.
Tumbler Ridge, located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia more than 1,100 kilometres north of Vancouver, has a population of fewer than 3,000 people.
Canadian media reported the suspected attacker was a woman, but the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) declined to release details about the suspect’s identity during a Tuesday news conference.
