KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has announced that 865 acres of land in the “Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi Township” in southern Ghazni province have been declared state property based on a Sharia ruling by the Special Court.
In its statement, the MoJ said that the Special Court for Addressing Cases of Usurped State Lands in the Central Zone, after reviewing documents and records for 457.5 acres of land in Ghazni City, decided to officially register the land as state property.
The ministry noted that the Commission for the Prevention of Land Grabbing had earlier investigated the 865-acre township, located in the 5th police district of Ghazni city. Under Article 17 of the Law on the Prevention and Restitution of Grabbed Lands, the case was formally referred to the Special Court.
According to the MoJ, the court reached its decision after carefully reviewing ownership documents, property records, and information obtained from relevant authorities. As no evidence indicated that the land had been legally purchased from the government, it was declared state-owned.
The MoJ added that the process of reviewing, verifying, and reclaiming state land continues nationwide, with the Land Grab Prevention Commission, provincial technical teams, and relevant special courts resolving cases after thorough examination of documents and official information.
