KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Javed Basharat has officially announced his departure from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Basharat said: “My chapter with the UFC has come to a close. I leave with my head held high and my standards intact.”
He emphasised that his professional values remain steadfast, noting that as a fighter who has consistently competed at the highest level, he has always conducted himself with professionalism, discipline and respect — principles he intends to uphold moving forward.
The 29-year-old also expressed his gratitude to fans and supporters, writing: “Thank you to everyone who stood with me — I truly appreciate the support.”
Basharat concludes his UFC career with a professional MMA record of 15 wins and two losses. Meanwhile, his younger brother, Farid Basharat, who remains unbeaten, continues to compete in the organisation.
