HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The process of issuing electronic work permits for domestic and foreign nationals has been officially launched for the first time in western Herat province.
Director of Labour and Social Affairs Hafiz Mirza Mohammad Abu Mansoor said the initiative was introduced to simplify the provision of administrative services, reduce in-person visits, prevent overcrowding, expedite the review of applications and enhance transparency in the delivery of public services.
He said applicants could now submit their work permit requests online and track all stages of the review, approval and issuance process through the digital system.
According to him, the electronic system enables applicants to register personal information, upload required documents, monitor the status of their applications and receive final responses online.
The official emphasised that the implementation of the system would standardise, accelerate and make service delivery more transparent, paving the way for greater satisfaction among citizens as well as domestic and foreign investors.
The move comes amid growing demand in recent years for digital services within government institutions, with citizens calling for simpler, faster and more transparent procedures to obtain official services.
