KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and UNAMA Deputy Special Representative Andrika Retwatte discussed strengthening coordination and cooperation between the Islamic Emirate and UN agencies, highlighting humanitarian efforts and ongoing collaboration.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgette Gagnon, Acting Head of UNAMA and Chief of the Political Section, along with her delegation, also attended the meeting.
The talks focused on enhancing interaction and coordination between the Ministry and UN agencies operating in Afghanistan.
The statement noted that Foreign Minister Muttaqi praised Retwatte’s contributions as UNAMA’s Humanitarian Coordinator and expressed appreciation for her efforts in facilitating effective collaboration.
Retwatte, in turn, thanked the Foreign Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their support during her tenure, describing her mission in Afghanistan as rich with experiences and positive memories.
