KABUL (Pajhwok): Oman’s foreign minister has announced that the third round of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States will take place on Thursday (26 February) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The first round of negotiations between Iran and the United States was held on 6 February in Muscat, the capital of Oman.
In a post on X, Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi confirmed that the upcoming talks would be hosted in Geneva.
He wrote: “Pleased to confirm US-Iran negotiations are now set for Geneva this Thursday, with a positive push to go the extra mile towards finalising the deal.”
He added that the third round would seek to take further steps towards concluding an agreement.
Following the second round of talks, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Tehran and Washington had reached a common understanding on the “main guiding principles”, but emphasised that further efforts were still required to achieve a final outcome.
