KABUL (Pajhwok): A high-ranking Afghan delegation, led by Director of the Afghanistan Standard and Quality Authority (ASQA) Mullah Faizullah Tamim, departed for Turkmenistan on Tuesday to review the import of high-quality oil, oil sources and refineries.
In a statement, ASQA said that during the official visit, the delegation would meet relevant Turkmen officials and visit oil reservoirs, storage facilities and refineries to closely examine the processes of production, refining, storage and export of petroleum products.
The visit is part of efforts aimed at preventing the entry of low-quality fuel, protecting public interests, supporting consumer rights and strengthening market confidence.
The authority emphasised that sending the delegation reflects the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (IEA) commitment to ensuring transparency, quality and safety in petroleum imports.
The statement noted the trip represents an important step in enhancing bilateral cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan and ensuring the quality of imported petroleum products.
