KABUL (Pajhwok): The Committee for Providing Employment Opportunities to Returnees has facilitated jobs for around 7,000 returnees and registered over 166,000 for employment, an official said on Wednesday.
Deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), Hamdullah Fitrat, stated in a post on X that the committee, in coordination with the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA), has provided technical and vocational training to 6,141 returnees across various provinces.
Fitrat added that over 166,000 skilled and unskilled returnees have been registered, with their details shared with the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs for potential employment.
A list of 2,000 returnees was directly forwarded to various Emirate departments for recruitment, while 772 returnees secured jobs in industrial parks in collaboration with the private sector.
He noted that returnees have been allocated quotas in the process of sending Afghan workers abroad and emphasized that the committee is committed to providing employment opportunities for all eligible returnees and addressing their related challenges.
