KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, said in a phone call with his Turkish counterpart that the Islamic Emirate (IEA) opposes violence and seeks solutions through mutual respect, but progress requires genuine intent from the other side.
Muttaqi spoke with Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, about regional issues, particularly the latest developments between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
According to a statement from Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry, Muttaqi said recent actions by Afghan security and defense forces were carried out to protect the country’s sovereignty, airspace, and territorial integrity, and that the objectives were successfully achieved.
He emphasized that the Islamic Emirate has consistently opposed violence and prioritizes resolving problems through mutual understanding; however, meaningful progress depends on the other side demonstrating sincere and practical commitment to solutions.
Turkey’s Foreign Minister also said he is coordinating with relevant countries to stabilize the situation and reduce violence.
