Man detained over killing his mother, brother in Farah

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): A man has been arrested on charges of killing his mother and brother in western Farah province, an official said on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Mullah Kaleemullah Nangyal told Pajhwok Afghan News that a man identified as Mahmood shot his family members at a residential house in Rigi village of Farah city, the provincial capital, on Monday night. The attack left his mother and brother dead and seriously injured another brother and sister.

He added: “Security forces immediately reached to the scene. Mahmood initially fled the area but was detained today by security personnel in Pushtrod district along with a weapon.”

He linked the incident to a family dispute.
