KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Vice and Virtue and Complaints (MoVVC) has instructed traders and shopkeepers to refrain from hoarding and to sell goods in accordance with the approved price list, warning that violators will face legal action.
Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, spokesperson for MoVVC, stated that the ministry regularly monitors markets, shops and commercial centres in line with its Sharia responsibilities and Article 18 of its law.
He added that, in addition to controlling prices, the ministry works to prevent hoarding, price hikes, the sale of expired goods, fraud and other malpractice in order to protect public rights and maintain order in the markets.
Traders, shopkeepers and managers of commercial markets across the country were urged to strictly observe these principles, sell goods according to the approved price list, avoid hoarding, refrain from unjust price increases and ensure fairness in weights and measures.
Khyber warned that shops and markets found violating these principles would be sealed, and their owners referred to the relevant judicial authorities for further action.
He also called on the public to cooperate with the ministry by reporting cases of overpricing, hoarding, fraud, or similar violations to the official numbers of the provincial departments, so that timely legal measures can be taken.
MoVVC reaffirmed that any shops or markets breaching the rules would be closed, with owners referred to judicial bodies for legal proceedings.
