KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan Consulate in Bonn, Germany, says passport issuance for Afghan citizens has resumed after the mission’s administration was transferred to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, with about 4,000 passports currently in the printing stage.
The Afghan Consulate in Bonn wrote on its X page: “After the transfer of the management and general affairs of the Afghan Consulate in Bonn to the IEA, the process of issuing and distributing passports for Afghan citizens residing in Germany has resumed after a long delay.”
The consulate added that around 4,000 passports are currently being printed and are expected to be ready soon for distribution to applicants.
The resumption comes after many Afghans living in Germany faced difficulties in recent months in renewing or obtaining passports.
