UN Security Council convenes on Afghanistan today

KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is scheduled to meet on Afghanistan today (Monday) with representatives from several regional countries in attendance.

The meeting will commence at 3:00 pm United States time, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) stated.

Acting Director of UNAMA, Georgette Gagnon, is due to present a report on the situation in Afghanistan to the Council.
