KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) says that since the beginning of solar year 1404, more than 4,100 electronic ID cards have been issued to Afghan citizens in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a statement, the NSIA said that 4,100 new electronic ID cards have been distributed through the Easy Services Centre in Abu Dhabi since the start of the solar year.
Correctional services have also been carried out for a number of both electronic and paper ID cards.
The statement quoted Nauman Akbar as saying that around 60 people daily from various countries—including Canada, the United States, European nations, and Afghan residents in the UAE—visit the centre to obtain ID cards or resolve identity-related issues.
To expand identity registration and electronic ID distribution, the NSIA has so far established the Easy Services Centre in Abu Dhabi, along with three identity registration centres in selected cities in Iran.
The NSIA emphasised that the Easy Services Centre in the UAE will continue operating for the next four months, allowing Afghan residents in the country to obtain electronic ID cards and address issues related to their paper ID cards.
