KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Standards and Quality Authority (ASQA) has returned 23 tonnes of substandard angle iron to the exporting country after inspections, reinforcing its commitment to domestic market security and consumer protection.
In a statement, the ASQA said the shipment was returned via Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi Port following thorough quality checks.
The authority emphasized that quality verification of construction materials at all ports is carried out transparently, systematically and decisively, with no leniency for imports that endanger citizens’ health and safety.
ASQA also urged all traders and importers to strictly comply with domestic standards and uphold their ethical responsibility to maintain a high-quality, safe market.
