KABUL (Pajhwok): As many as 300 Afghans returned to the country this week after being released from prisons in neighbouring Pakistan, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the ministry, citing a report from the Transfer Department in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province, said the individuals had been detained for periods ranging from one day to two months.
The statement added that, after registration with the department and receiving assistance from partner organisations, the returnees were transported to their respective home districts.
Earlier, around 200 Afghans had also been released from Pakistani prisons.
