KABUL (Pajhwok): Around 70,000 tourists have visited scenic sites in central Parwan province since the start of Eid, enjoying the area’s pleasant climate and natural beauty, officials said.
Atiqullah Safi, head of culture and tourism at the Parwan Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that since the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, about 70,000 domestic tourists have explored recreational and tourist sites, particularly the Gulghundi picnic area.
He noted that the Gulghundi redbud field spans around 1,700 jeribs of land and is covered with blooming redbud trees.
Safi said Gulghundi, Topdara, Pol-i-Matak, the Jabal Saraj royal palace, Sayed, and the lush valleys of Ghorband and Salang were among the locations attracting thousands of visitors during this period.
He added that security, favorable weather, and natural beauty played a key role in drawing tourists, and the department continues efforts to better promote recreational and tourist areas.
Some visitors said Parwan’s pleasant climate was a major factor in their choice to visit. They also cited its proximity to the capital, improved security, refreshing environment, and scenic landscapes as key reasons for enjoying the province.
