PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): At least three people were killed and 23 others injured in 20 traffic accidents in central Logar province during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, officials said on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Mawlawi Ahmadullah Anas told Pajhwok Afghan News that the accidents occurred in the provincial capital and several districts. He said over-speeding, carelessness and failure to follow traffic rules were the main causes.
Anas added that the increased movement of people and road congestion during the festival also contributed to the rise in accidents. The injured are receiving treatment at the provincial hospital.
Traffic officials urged drivers to exercise caution, avoid speeding and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further incidents.
