KABUL (Pajhwok): The sixth edition of the MirwaisNeka Tournament, featuring five teams, will begin on 2 April in the southern provinces of Kandahar and Helmand, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Tuesday.
In a statement, the ACB said that in line with the domestic cricket annual schedule, the sixth phase of the zonal Mirwais Neka three-day tournament will run from 2 April to 20 April.
The participating teams are Mis-i-Ainak, Band-i-Amir, Amo, Bost, and Speen Ghar.
Players with domestic cricket contracts from these five zones, as well as the top performers from this year’s first-class provincial competitions, will compete. Additionally, members of Afghanistan’s under-19 national team will take part in the tournament.
The ACB stated that following the conclusion of the zonal Mirwais three-day tournament, other major domestic competitions—including Twenty20, one-day, and four-day tournaments—will take place in the coming months, featuring numerous national team members and leading domestic players.
