KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) says 17 artefacts, including stone tools and pottery fragments, have been discovered in northern Baghlan province.
In a post on X, the ministry, citing the Baghlan Department of Information and Culture, said the newly discovered artefacts were collected and registered from various sites across the province.
It said five stone tools dating back to the Kushan period were unearthed during surveys conducted by a team of archaeologists at the “Kafir Qala” archaeological site, located along fourth roads in central Baghlan.
The statement added the items include stone chiselling tools, a hand millstone head and several broken and unfinished stone tool fragments, indicating the area’s ancient history and civilisation.
It further noted that 12 pottery fragments were collected from the Kafir Qala site in central Baghlan, along with one additional piece found between eight and nine roads.
