KABUL (Pajhwok): Four children have been rescued from kidnappers in the Salang district of central Parwan province, the Ministry of Vice, Virtue and Complaints (MoVVC) said on Monday.
In a statement, the ministry said the children had been abducted from Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province.
The ministry added that the children were rescued during a joint operation conducted by MoVVC inspectors in coordination with security forces on Sunday.
It said the children were handed over to their families following the completion of legal procedures and necessary checks, in coordination with the ministry’s provincial department in Balkh.
The ministry called on security and intelligence agencies to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
The families of the rescued children expressed satisfaction over their safe return and urged the relevant authorities to take firm action against those involved in accordance with the law, the statement concluded.
